I hope that everyone is enjoying a wonderful Central Wisconsin summer! We are seeing lots of students of all ages participating in our Summer Library Program, and our programs at all MCPL locations have been very well attended. Be sure to take some time for yourself and find a new favorite author to read while vacationing or just the right book to help you tackle a home repair project. Remember to check our website or individual library locations for information about upcoming events through the summer.
You may have read about our plans to install a beautiful living reef saltwater aquarium in the children’s area of the Wausau library. That project is continuing, and a reasonable time frame should have it ready for viewing sometime in the early fall. We have had numerous inquiries from people around the county who are very excited to see this project completed. By locating the aquarium in the children’s department, we can use the story time room and its SMART board to get young learners interested in natural science topics. The entire project will be funded by generous donations from several members of the community, and there will be more details forthcoming as the project nears completion.
Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to join MCPL and Marathon County in working toward becoming healthier, safer and more prosperous in the coming year. We have a tremendous selection of resources to inform your decisions as you build a healthier, safer, more prosperous life for yourself and your family. Stop by and ask how we can help!
