The Crawford County Library System currently has several books that were adapted into movies and coming to a theater near you!

Jumper by Steven Gould. A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers that this fight has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between "Jumpers" and those who have sworn to kill them. This movie will be in theaters starting  February 14th and stars Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson.

Van Buren Public Library – Adult Fiction GOULD


The Spiderwick Chronicles Series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black
Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family leave New York and move into the secluded old house owned by their great, great uncle. This movie will be in theaters starting February 15th and stars Freddie Highmore and Mary-Louise Parker.

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. When Mary Boleyn comes to court as an innocent girl of fourteen, she catches the eye of Henry VIII. Dazzled by the king, Mary falls in love with both her golden prince and her growing role as unofficial queen. However, she soon realizes just how much she is a pawn in her family's ambitious plots as the king's interest begins to wane and she is forced to step aside for her best friend and rival: her sister, Anne. Then Mary knows that she must defy her family and her king, and take her fate into her own hands.The movie will be in theaters starting February 29th and stars Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.

The accusation destroys Robbie and Cecilia's newfound love and dramatically alters the course of all their lives. This movie stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy.

I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.  Robert Neville is a briliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world.  This movie stars Will Smith.

2nd Annual "Guess the Sweethearts" Contest

The Mulberry Public Library is having their 2nd Annual "Guess the Sweethearts" Contest. This was a big hit last year and so much fun!

Bring in a photo of your favorite local couple by January 21st. This can be a wedding photo, anniversary photo, etc.  Photo must be a framed 8x10, 5x7, or 4x6 with name and phone number on back.

The general public can view these sweethearts and start voting on February 1st and the contest will run through Valentine's Day. Winners will be announced Friday, February 15th.

Prizes will be awarded to: Patrons who match photos with correct names and the couple receiving the most votes as "Mulberry's Sweethearts".

Tax Forms Are Here!

It's that time of year again and tax season is upon us. The Crawford County Library System has received a few of the federal forms and booklets and these are now available at your local library.

We currently have:

1040- Instruction Booklet1040- Schedules A&B

1040- U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

1040EZ-Instruction Booklet

1040EZ- Income Tax Return for Single and Joint Filers with No Dependent

1040A - Instruction Booklet

1040A- U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

Schedule EIC- Earned Income Credit

Visit www.irs.gov for more information on filing your federal tax return. On this website you can find tax forms, instructions, new tax legislation information, etc. Also check out Free File , a free electronic filing service that, according to the U.S. Government, 70 percent of all taxpayers qualify for.

For information on State and Local Taxes visit DFA-Office of Income Tax Administration. State income tax forms and instructions are available online for you to download or fill in.

And for help with your federal taxes you can always contact your local IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center located in Fort Smith. Their phone number is (479) 649-8602.
