Real Messages from Heaven

Author Faye Aldridge, a songwriter, speaker and businesswoman, will be at the Maury County Public Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, to discuss her book, “Real Messages from Heaven,” a book that offers undeniable proof of life after death.

Following a news report by WSMV Channel 4 news of Nashville on July 11, 2012, this proof was further authenticated in an article published in The Daily Herald. The article, “When doctors see ghosts: A tale of hope” documents the testimonies of Dr. Arthur Cushman, neurosurgeon in the Tennessee area, and Dr. Carl Willis, hematologist and medical oncologist in Tennessee. Each physician personally witnessed an other-worldly, ghostly apparition in their respective homes just hours after Faye’s husband, Burke Aldridge, died of cancer at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. This well-covered story was also carried on CBS Atlanta 46 in Georgia, KSLA in Shreveport, La., KLTV in Tyler, Texas, WFIE in Indiana, and other stations in Myrtle Beach, Memphis, Cleveland, Charlotte, etc.

The after-death encounters inspired Faye to write “Real Messages from Heaven.” The book tells Burke’s story, along with many other miraculous true stories as told to Faye, and includes many of her own inspiring life experiences.

Civil War Programs
The Maury County Public Library’s celebration of the American Civil War Sesquicentennial will continue in March with lectures by authors Eric A. Jacobson, Traci Nichols Belt and Gordon T. Belt.

Jacobson will be at the Maury County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, to discuss his latest work, “Baptism of Fire: The 44th Missouri, 175th Ohio and 183rd Ohio at the Battle of Franklin.”

The book is described as being “much more than a battle history, this book relates the individual stories of the soldiers who left their homes to fight for what they believed to be right and how they ended up at a place called Franklin.”

The second library program at 2 p.m. March 24 will feature the book “Onward Southern Soldiers: Religion and the Army of Tennessee” by Traci Nichols-Belt and Gordon T. Belt. The book description reads, “The Civil War was trying, bloody and hard-fought combat for both sides. What was it, then, that sustained soldiers low on supplies and morale? For the Army of Tennessee, it was religion. ‘Onward Southern Soldiers: Religion and the Army of Tennessee’ in the Civil War explores the significant impact of religion on every rank, from generals to chaplains to common soldiers. It took faith to endure overwhelming adversity. Religion unified troops, informing both why and how they fought and providing the rationale for enduring great hardship for the Confederate cause. Using primary source material such as diaries, letters, journals and sermons of the Army of Tennessee, Traci Nichols-Belt, along with Gordon T. Belt, presents the history of the vital role of the army’s religious practices.”
